  How to make zeera pulao recipe  Ingredients A pinch - saffron strands soaked in in 3 tbsps of water 1 cup - basmati rice 1 tbsp - vegetable oil or ghee 1.5 cups - water 2 - large bay leaves 2 tsp - cumin seeds 1/3 cup - frozen peas 1/4 cup - sliced almonds or salted cashews 1/4 cup - golden raisins How to Make zeera Pulao Soak the saffron strands for about an hour. Wash the basmati rice and soak for about half an hour. Then drain. Heat oil on medium-high heat and saute the drained rice for about 3 minutes. Transfer rice to a rice cooker and add 1.5 cups of water with the bay leaves and saffron water, then cook. Once the rice starts cooking, heat a small pan and toast cumin seeds and nuts. Remove from heat and mix with the raisins and the frozen peas. When rice is about 1/2 to 3/4 cooked, mix the toasted cumin seeds, nuts, raisins and peas. Allow cooker to complete cooking cycle. HOW TO MAKE ANJEER HALWA



INGREDIENTS OF ANJEER HALWA

4 Servings
  • 1 1/4 cup dried figs
  • 3 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/2 cup powdered,blanched & peeled almonds
  • 4 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 tablespoon milk powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered green cardamom
  • mixed dry fruits as required


Step 1 / 4 Boil Figs

In a saucepan, boil water and then add figs. Stir to mix well and let it cook for about 3-4 mins. Once they turn soft, switch off the gas flame and drain the figs.

Step 2 / 4 Blend The Figs

In a blender, add almost 1/4 cup of water and blend the figs to form a smooth paste. Add more water, if required. Keep it aside for a while.

Step 3 / 4 Prepare The Halwa

Heat ghee in a kadhai and add powdered almonds. Stir continuously for about 2 mins. Now, add figs puree prepared in Step 2 followed by sugar, milk powder, and 1/2 cup of water. Mix everything well and cook for about 4-5 mins on medium flame. Stir occasionally. Lastly, add cardamom powder and mix again. Cook for a minute and then switch off the gas flame.

Step 4 / 4 Your Anjeer Halwa Is Ready To Serve

Garnish with your favourite nuts. Your Anjeer Halwa is ready to be serve now enjoy.



Tips
  • Add more water if required to make a smooth fig paste.
  • You can add jaggery powder instead of sugar to make it healthier.
  • You can top the halwa with your favourite nuts.
